The stormy winds and the thundering sounds, the chilly weather and the approaching darkness, it all looked evil and scary. But these two beautiful souls, Diya and Nisha, felt as if there was something magical about it all. While Diya simply loved the winds and wanted to dance with their flow, Nisha couldn't help admiring the essence of the evening.
"Nature can heal all wounds. Even thunder seems like music to me," said Diya.
Nisha was silent. She wanted to be still and capture the peace and calm of this beautiful scenery. She felt as if the winds were hugging her and she wanted to remain in their embrace.
A few metres away from where the girls stood, three cabs arrived followed by a van. From the first cab, two men got out and to receive them Manager Nishant had himself arrived. These people seemed to be some important guests.
"How was your ride Sir? Its great that you are here before the storm strikes?" Mr. Nishant was speaking to one of the men while the other one was instructing the cab driver regarding their luggage.
"Ah, the storm," the man replied, "thats not an issue. By the way, are all the arrangements done?"
"Yes sir, perfectly. You can see it for yourself."
As Mr. Nishant guided the two men into the hotel, the girls caught a glimpse of them. Nisha felt uneasy on looking at them. She felt a sudden rush of fear and worry.
"What is the matter?" asked Diya, "you look worried."
"There is something sinister about this place."
"Stop thinking about such stuff Nisha. Come on, lets just walk up to that signboard. There are a lot of people arriving. I see two cabs. Lets see whats going on."
"We are going back in. Its getting cold here. We might fall ill."
"No buts now, lets get back in."
The chilly weather wasn't really the matter. Nisha wasn't feeling good about any of this. She felt unsafe and afraid.
A number of young men and women, dressed in a particular uniform got down from the other two cabs. One of the men stepped a little ahead and stood there with his gaze fixed on the horizon. He looked tired, anxious and his eyelids were heavy due to lack of sleep.
"This place is so calm. I love places built in and around nature," he said.
"I hope there are no bugs here. You know I hate those creepy creatures," another man spoke. This one seemed to be much more energetic and excited. He looked eager to resume his work.
The two of them stood still for a moment examining their surroundings.
"Sir," the cab driver called out to them, "your luggage!"
The two of them turned towards him and the first one rushed hurriedly as the driver was trying to bring down a suitcase from the carrier.
"Just a minute, hold on! I am coming," he said.
"Why are you rushing Arjun, the porter will help out."
"No Vivan, this suitcase contains some important stuff."
"But you have your laptop and money in your bagpack. What else have you brought here that is so important?"
"I will tell you, but not now. Now come here and help me with this."
The stormy winds were growling as if uttering a warning, the dark clouds were gathering in the sky and this all would pave the way for a dark night ahead, maybe the darkest one.
