Most people will agree that the time when spending more time in office than at home was a prerequisite to being good at work is over. In fact, there is a totally contrary movement. It is much emphasized through organizational research. It proves the greater efficiency of employees who have active social life, practice extracurricular activities, develop hobbies, spend time with family, eat properly and live their lives beyond corporate environment.
It is the coming together to be useful and pleasant, is not it? While companies are looking for efficient professionals, professionals dream of a job where they can bring together other areas of life in a minimally balanced way. The same goes for the functions that allow the so called vacuumed home office. It is the chance to work on your schedules and determine your routine.
Normally speaking, you should not spend so much time in commuting between the home and the office. It is nothing but a sheer waste of time. I have no doubt that these present day developments are really wonderful and helpful. But of course, all of this comes at a price. These types of routines only work when the word ‘efficiency’ becomes as beautiful in practice as it is on paper.
But how can you be efficient if you plan to work only a few hours and devote to other activities and in some cases work in an informal environment in your own home? The good news is that to be effective at work, you can carry out a few tricks that will save you time and be more assertive in the tasks you do, regardless of the time of dedication.
The rule is very simple. Instead of taking two hours to do a task with average concentration, you need to work for just one hour at the highest level of concentration and without any interruptions. In this way, you will get the other one hour to dedicate your time and energy to other tasks, whether they are work related or not. The main focus here is to give your full attention.
